Information on the cameo
Alolan Exeggutor is a regional form of the Pokémon Exeggutor (which evolves from Exeggcute) in the tropical Alola region. It is based on a coconut-bearing palm tree. Its species is the Coconut Pokémon, and it evolves from Exeggcute using a Leaf Stone. In its Alola form, Exeggutor is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon, but in regular form, it is a Grass/Psychic-type Pokémon.
Appearance in the rap battle
Alolan Exeggutor appears in Ash Ketchum's first verse during the line, "You got candy raps: Reese's Pieces!" It has a basketball hoop attached to its neck, and Ketchum scores a point by throwing a Poké Ball through it.
Trivia
- Its appearance in the battle is a reference to its appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon as a regional form of the original Exeggutor, giving it a drastically extended neck. This became a popular meme with people making photoshops and edits, mocking its humorously long neck.
- It is the only Pokémon that appears during the battle to not hail from the first generation of Pokémon. However, its original form does.
