Daniel Anthony Padilla was born on September 16th, 1987, in Sacramento, California. He is a YouTube celebrity and comedian who makes up one half of the comedy duo Smosh, alongside his best friend Ian Hecox. On June 14th, 2017, Anthony announced that he had left Smosh to build up his own YouTube channel and create his own content. He stated in 2018 that this was due to their parent company Defy Media's poor treatment of their employees and the Smosh brand.
In June of 2023, Anthony and Ian would come together once again to announce their purchase of Smosh from Mythical Entertainment, who had previously acquired Defy Media.

- Nice Peter previously wanted Anthony to portray Ash Ketchum, the protagonist of the Pokémon anime series, in a future battle, but the role was given to Brian Walters instead.
- This is due to the acclaimed "Pokémon in Real Life" parodies made by Smosh, in which he portrays Ash.
- However, Ray William Johnson was also previously asked to portray Ash Ketchum, as seen in the Dr. Seuss vs Shakespeare Behind the Scenes.
