Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on July 30th, 1947, in Thal, Austria. He is an Austrian-American actor, politician, philanthropist, and bodybuilder. Alongside his distinct accent and muscular physique, Schwarzenegger is known for his work in action films such as the Terminator franchise, Total Recall, Commando, Predator, and the Conan series.
Schwarzenegger entered politics in 2003, when he defeated Governor Gray Davis in a recall election and became the thirty-eighth Governor of California. He was the second Hollywood actor to be elected Governor, after Ronald Reagan. He continued to serve in this capacity until 2011, when he was term limited and replaced by Jerry Brown. Schwarzenegger was married to Kennedy heiress Maria Shriver until 2021.
