Information on the location
Baker Street is the street where Sherlock Holmes lives in the canonical stories and in most adaptations of the same name. It is also a real-life location in London, England. Baker Street was initially created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, being an entirely fictional street at that time. At the time, the real life Baker Street only went up to 85, not 221. 221B was not added until 1932.
Baker Street is where Holmes' stories usually begin and sometimes take place, as Holmes and Watson live in an apartment on 221B Baker Street. It first appeared in A Study in Scarlet when Holmes and Watson rented it from the landlady, Mrs. Hudson, who has occasionally aided them in cases. In Holmes' time, Baker Street was a high-class residential district. In the current time, 221B Baker Street is the "Sherlock Holmes Museum", visited by millions each year.
