A dystopian Detroit, Michigan, is where RoboCop rapped in Terminator vs Robocop.

Information on the location

In RoboCop films:

Detroit, Michigan, is the main setting in the RoboCop series. In the dystopian future of Detroit, the crime rate is very high, a problem which RoboCop is tasked to pacify. Omni Consumer Products (OCP) is the largest company in Detroit and controls much of the business, legal and illegal.

Real-life Detroit:

Detroit, with a population of over 680,000 residents as of 2010, is one of the United States' lead suppliers in the automotive industry, and is home to the Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corp, and Chrysler Group, LLC. Due to Detroit's industries, it is popularly known as the "Motor City".

Due to the global economic collapse that began in 2006, which led to a spike in fuel prices, demand for large vehicles such as Detroit produced—among them SUVs and military-grade consumer vehicles—fell sharply, in effect causing the entire industry to implode upon itself. The city followed suit, and in 2013, the city of Detroit filed for financial bankruptcy. It now stands as one of the poorest and most mismanaged cities in the US, also with a violent crime rate among the highest in the nation.

Appearance in the rap battle

This is the location where RoboCop rapped. There are two dumpsters and a police car off to the sides. Behind them, there is a fence and some buildings in the background. One of the buildings has graffiti on the walls.
