Information on the cameo

Edward James Kenway (1693–1735) is the main protagonist in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. He is a Welsh privateer-turned pirate and a member of the Order of Assassins. Edward joined the British Royal Navy early in his life and, once accepted, found himself stationed in the West Indies. However, a quick end to the war and the promise of gold, glory and fame eventually seduced him into a life of piracy, meeting such people as Blackbeard, Benjamin Hornigold, and more. It was during this quest that Edward first encountered the Assassin Order, and became embroiled in their struggle.

Appearance in the rap battle

Edward Kenway was seen with the gangsters in Capone's Warehouse at the start of Al's second verse. He was next seen sneaking on to Blackbeard's background. During the line, "I'm the emcee Assassin, slash like Edward Kenway!", Edward started to kill the pirates.

Trivia

  • He was included solely to promote Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which is sponsored by the battle he appears in.
  • He is the most recently-introduced character to make any appearance in the series since the battle featuring him as a cameo was released nearly the same time as his debut game.
  • He is the fifth video-game-originating character to appear in a battle, after Master ChiefMarioLuigi, and Princess Peach.
    • He is the second video game originated character to appear as a cameo (not including previews), the first one being Princess Peach.
    • Despite there being five video-game-originated characters, the Assassin's Creed series is only the third to be represented.
    • He is the only one in Season 3.
  • He is the first cameo to kill someone, as he killed Blackbeard's pirates.
  • He is the second Xin Wuku character who isn't a stunt double. The first were the Urban Ninjas.
