Elizabeth Tower is the name of the tower that holds the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster, in London, England. It is sometimes nicknamed Big Ben, although the name, strictly speaking, only refers to the bell of the clock. It was given its name to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. A British cultural icon, the tower is one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom.
