Information on the rapper

Robert Craig Knievel, professionally known as Evel Knievel, was a stunt artist, entertainer, and daredevil. An American cultural icon, he initially began his career by participating in rodeo events and ski jumping competitions, as well as participated as pole vaulting for the US Army track team. He came to fame in the late 1960s for his motorcycle jumps (inspired by the stunts of Joie Chitwood), in which he would jump over cars and other hazards as obstacles, such as boxes containing rattlesnakes and lions. This led to him gaining national attention after being invited on The Joey Bishop Show in 1968, with his fame solidified by his Caesars Palace jump. While attempting to jump the fountains at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, he crashed on the landing pad, resulting in a crushed femur and pelvis as well as numerous other fractures and a month-long hospital stay. After a series of failed proposals, in which he offered to jump the Grand Canyon, the Mississippi River, and various skyscrapers in New York City, Knievel made the Snake River Canyon jump, where he flew the Skycycle X-2 rocket across the Snake River Canyon in Idaho, albeit with the parachute deploying too early.

Eventually, Knievel's career dwindled after he was convicted of assaulting author Shelly Saltman, with advertisers such as Harley-Davidson and Ideal Toys withdrawing their sponsorships, and Knievel himself spending six months in county jail, leading to him declaring bankruptcy in 1981. Knievel also faced further legal trouble when he was arrested in Sunnyvale, California for beating his girlfriend, Krystal Kennedy, as well as for possessing two handguns in the back of his car. Knievel and Kennedy were eventually married in 1999 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and Knievel was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame that same year. In his final years, Knievel partnered with Six Flags St. Louis to name a rollercoaster after him and converted to Christianity, before dying of diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 69. He was married twice and had four children by his first wife, Linda Joan Bork.
