The March of Progress made a cameo appearance in Ash Ketchum vs Charles Darwin. It was portrayed by Dante Cimadamore.

Information on the cameo

The March of Progress, properly called The Road to Homo Sapiens, is an illustration that presents 25 million years of human evolution. It was created for the Early Man volume of the Life Nature Library, published in 1965, and drawn by the artist Rudolph Zallinger.

The illustration originally is a foldout entitled The Road to Homo Sapiens, which is a four and a half-page spread of 15 figures. When folded up, it becomes a simplified version of the illustration with just six figures are shown, which is the more popular version of the illustration. It has been widely parodied and imitated to create images of progress of other kinds.

Appearance in the rap battle

The illustration could be seen beside Charles Darwin during the lines, "It took millions of years for mankind to evolve! Now they're hunched over cell phones playing with your balls!" Instead of the normal evolution with the figures, it depicts a devolution with the last half of the figures.
