Luna Lovegood is a fictional character in the Harry Potter book series written by J. K. Rowling. The character first appears in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, in which she is described as having straggly, waist-length dirty-blond hair and a dazed look on her face.
She was a British witch, the only child and daughter of Xenophiliusand Pandora Lovegood. Her mother accidentally died while experimenting with spells when Luna was nine and Luna was raised by her father, editor of the magazine The Quibbler, in a rook-like house near the village of Ottery St Catchpole in Devon.

Luna appeared throughout the battle. She first appeared on Platform 9¾, waiting to board the Hogwarts Express. She then appears at the Hogwarts Castle and the Quidditch Pitch, before reappearing later in Diagon Alley.
