I admit I've made a few questionable contributions, but did you really have to call me a "large-scale moron"? All I did on that blog post was make a list of battles, and if you think it's a good idea to use a term from a blog post to insult the writer of said blog post, I think we both know who the real large-scale moron is.
ay Joe idk if you got my skype message earlier this month, but could you write four more lines for the second verse of your character in that battle you're guesting for me? I'm lengthening the battle a little bit. Thanks.
All right, maybe our sources differ here, but if my calculations are correct, you have:
12 canon Doctors, all male
one intermediary Doctor (the "War Doctor"), seen in the 50th Anniversary specials), and
one substitute for the late William Hartnell, seen in the 2017 finale.
= 14 men.
Technically, we shouldn't mention Ms. Whitaker's Doctor until Christmas, but we already have a firestorm out there because she is who she is. True, it'll play havoc on all that we know, but I can point to the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors surprised that they didn't become "gingers" upon regeneration. I'm assuming that this is UK speak for a spunky redhead.
David Bradley does not count because Richard Hurndall does not count. Both of them are replacements for William Hartnell; it's not like they were formally cast to play the character as a new face, they are supposed to representing an old face. The only actors who count are the ones who have starred in the show as the main character in the numbered forms, the original twelve actors, as well as John Hurt from his face in the 2013 50th anniversary special. Now whether you want to count a fourteenth actor, Jodie Whittaker, who has not played the character on screen yet, is up to you, but other than that only the twelve main actors+John Hurt count, because these are the thirteen actors who have played distinct identities of the Doctor in the show.
Interestingly, though, there had been mention that Mr. Bradley played Hartnell in an earlier biopic somewhat unrelated to the Whoniverse. It could be inferred that he was a logical choice to tie the First to the Twelfth. Somewhere on BBC News, I think it was.
So the actual count is 15 by what you've told me, but let's also remember that the first three seasons fell victim to "junking"; therefore evidence of any stand-ins genuinely can't count. But this Bradley guy did get a speaking part and isn't just another "face in the crowd".
The whole article in question turned into a mess when the Whitaker announcement was made. You figure out how to clean it up. I didn't sign up to get into fights.
Because I wanted to talk to the editor who last changed the Doctor Who article. What I got was an unnecessary bashing and a supposed lecture in canon. I've seen the official sources and fan wikis that prove my case for making changes to the number of actors playing the Doctor, and there's a disagreement larger than it needs to be that results in a rollback war between myself and Scrawland Scribblescratch. Thirteen are registered, yet there are two more holding the place of the deceased William Hartnell in official stories; and the inclusion of info about the new woman coming in has made the article difficult to read for the casual observer.
I regret that there are no comment pages or forums to have discussed the matter live with the article.
I'm saying that the info is not precise canon, but it is fact, and I consider it our duty to present fact over the vast fiction that is Doctor Who.
I knew that if I saw myself in the list of users still alive I’d expect myself to either forfeit the game or make it farther than 143rd place, which by means having to make it 7/10 of the way through the game, unlike what happened in the previous hurt/heal game, otherwise I’d be fucked, first I decided to keep a low profile knowing nobody would (ahem) “notice me” in the list of users, I picked a good moment to request to forfeit when Trixter decided to go after me to try and eliminate me, it was at this moment that I knew, I was fucked, I wanted to forfeit the game so no one would get any kill on me, but because you didn’t allow me to forfeit, there had to be another way for me out of the game, my next plan was for me to be disqualified from competing the game by getting involved in an argument, and Neo started the best one where I would try to be disqualified from the game, that is until you foolishly said to me you would heal me to keep me in the game, that was where I had a change of plan, and making a pretend rage blog was the first step of my changed plan, I knew some people wouldn’t take my pretend rage blog seriously, encouraging them to do the opposite of what “they thought” I wanted, and by healing me to keep me in the game, they fell for my trick, I never lost most of my sanity, and despite still having all my sanity, I’m always insane, I never really tried to lose the game, I wanted to make an improvement by getting farther than 143rd place, and here I am 1/3 of the way through the game and farther than 143rd place, and I couldn’t have done it if I didn’t trick any users into healing me, I pulled it off really good, now, I am ready to lose the hurt/heal game.
