Millennium Falcon is a fictional starship in the Star Wars franchise. Designed by Joe Johnston for the movie A New Hope, it has subsequently appeared in other franchise media.
The Falcon is a repurposed freight transport ship originally owned by Lando Calrissian, who lost it in a wager with Han Solo. Solo himself once boasted the ship as one of the fastest in the galaxy, able to make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs. It is Solo's primary craft in all canon appearances.
Despite its limited offensive and defensive capabilities, the Falcon is highly maneuverable and comes equipped with a hyperdrive.
