An article of the National Enquirer briefly appeared during Mansa Musa's second verse in Jeff Bezos vs Mansa Musa.
Information on the location
The National Enquirer (originally The New York Evening Enquirer) is an American tabloid newspaper founded in 1926. Throughout it's 97 year history, it has been embroiled into numerous controversies, as it is infamous for employing a catch and kill practice, alleged blackmail, as well as denying to publish a story about 45th U.S. President Donald Trump's sexual misconduct on American model and actress Karen McDougal.
In February 2019, Centibillionaire and founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos accused the National Enquirer owner, David Pecker, of extortion and blackmailing him in exchange of private conversations between him and his wife Lauren Sanchez, which notably included Bezos' nudes. The newspaper would then publish an article regarding the photos obtained. After an investigation, it was revealed that Lauren's brother, Michael, sent them the images via text.
Appearance in the battle
A parody of the newspaper appears in Mansa Musa's second verse during the line "David Pecker picked a pack of your peter pics!" Notably, this has many differences compared to the real article.
The header says "THE UNTOLD STORY OF SLEAZY AMAZON RAPPER", and the sticker regarding his split of money after his divorce with Lauren Sanchez instead refers to his favorite beverage (presumably in reference to Bezos' line "'Cause now I feed your whole country for the price of a cup of coffee per day!"). The headline says "BEZOS' DIVORCE! THE WEIRD WIENER PICS NO ONE WANTS TO SEE". The name of the tabloid is changed into "ERB's HIGH INQUISITOR". Each image featuring Bezos and Lauren instead shows a photo featuring a younger Nice Peter and a photo of EpicLLOYD (who also plays Bezos in this battle) with his wife, Josie Ahlquist.
Below the main headline, the subtexts say "Gross textures & colors of his REPTILE SKIN!" and "How he DRINKS EMPLOYEES TEARS!" are shown. Finally, the underheading says "11 PAGES OF CRAP THAT EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY TALE! [sic]".
