Roman soldiers made a group cameo appearance in Shaka Zulu vs Julius Caesar alongside Julius Caesar. They were portrayed by EpicLLOYD.
Information on the cameo
Roman soldiers fought for the Roman Empire and Republic. They helped to create a massive empire, which encompassed the majority of modern-day Europe, as well as much of the Middle East and North Africa.
Roman soldiers are recognized by historians as extremely effective fighting machines. They were trained to fight in a disciplined and co-ordinated manner. A whole legion could be punished for failing to fight well in battle, even if the Romans won the battle itself.
A Roman soldier went into battle equipped with three main weapons: the pilum (similar to a javelin), the gladius (a razor-sharp sword), and the pugio (a small dagger). Along with these weapons, the soldiers carried a curved shield called a scutum. This gave the Roman soldiers a great deal of protection as it curved around their bodies.
Appearance in the rap battle
The Roman soldiers initially appeared in Julius Caesar's first verse during the line, "And hunting you, accompanied by legions of my countrymen!", where they could be seen standing behind him. They later appeared again throughout his second verse in various battle formations. Two soldiers could also be seen preparing to fire a ballista, shouting "Ready!" and "Aim!" to complete one of Caesar's lines.
