Information on the location

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, often shortened to and stylized as ellen, is an American television talk show hosted by comedienne/actress Ellen DeGeneres.

Debuting on September 8th, 2003, it is produced by Telepictures and airs in syndication, including stations owned by Comcast's NBCUniversal subsidiary, in the United States and Canada. For its first five seasons, the show was taped in Studio 11 at NBC Studios in Burbank, California. It later moved to Stage 1 on the nearby Warner Bros. lot. Since the beginning of the sixth season, ellen has been broadcast in high definition. The show has also won 61 Daytime Emmy Awards and 17 People’s Choice Awards as of 2019.

As of 2021, the show is in its seventeenth season. In a May interview and statement, DeGeneres said that the 2021-22 season will be the program's last, citing personal and professional reasons for its discontinuation.

Appearance in the rap battle

The location appears during the last half of Ellen DeGeneres' second verse when she says, "…like I'm Tom Cruise on a sofa!" DeGeneres appears standing on one of the two chairs before proceeding to sit down. Oprah Winfrey then appears behind DeGeneres in her Chicago office on the video screens. It then stays until Winfrey's third line of her second verse, where she proceeds to change it back to her first background.

Trivia

  • Winfrey appearing in an office on the screens behind DeGeneres is a reference to when Winfrey made a surprise appearance on DeGeneres' show while in her office in Chicago.[1]
  • This is the second location to be based off of a talk show, after The O'Reilly Factor.
  • This is the eighth location to be shared by all rappers during the battle.
  • This is the fourth time a TV was shown with rappers on it.
