Information on the cameos
Ninja (Japanese 忍者 literally 'one who is invisible') more properly referred to as shinobi (Japanese 忍び literally 'one who sneaks') were covert agents, mercenaries, and/or guerrillas in Feudal Japan. They served many roles including those related to siege, infiltration, ambush, reconnaissance, espionage, deception, irregular warfare, and later body guarding. Due to this (as well as the fact that they were frequently recruited from the lower classes of Japanese society), they were often looked down on by samurai as dishonorable. Though antecedents may have existed as far back as the 12th century, ninja as they are known today emerged and were most active during the Sengoku (Warring States) period from 1467 to 1615 since the turmoil and instability of the time led many daimyo and samurai to employ them as spies, assassins, saboteurs, mercenaries, and guerillas. Stereotypically, there are often depicted dressed in completely black clothing, that covers the majority of the body, with only the hands and the area around the eyes visible in order to convey a sense of invisibility.
Appearance in the rap battle
The urban ninjas tried attacking Bruce Lee throughout his verses, but they ultimately failed, resulting in them all being defeated. Occasionally, some would change into mustached cowboys by entering Clint Eastwood's side, and vice versa.
Trivia
- They are the first group cameo to die in-battle.
- Other ninjas appeared in Abe Lincoln vs Chuck Norris as well, where they were defeated by Chuck Norris; however, these ninjas were just images that were edited into the video.
