The Eighth Official Wiki Rap Tournament

Another year, another shit show! Welcome to the Eighth Official Wiki Rap Tournament! There's been eight of these already. Damn.

Anyway, yes, I'm running this year's tournament! Like last year, we'll see sixteen users battle it out for superiority through four rounds. We will not have a bracket system; matchups will be determined ahead of time.

Auditions

Like every year, each potential contestant will have to pass an audition to join the tournament. In the comments below, post a four line verse to show off your potential as a rapper. The verse must be original--not from a former battle--and should be posted in the comments below. I'll review each verse and pass the best ones I see, while others that don't quite make the cut can enter as back-up rappers in case anything goes awry for the other contestants.

That being said, I would like to keep an open dialogue with the contestants in case they ever run into any issues that may effect their performance in this tourney; we can work together to solve an issue instead of letting it grow by not acknowledging it. Feel free to message me on my message wall here on the wiki, or on Discord at Clover#1337.

I myself will also be competing. I've been in every tournament since the Second one, may as well keep it tradition. See you guys in the battle field!

Rules and Guidelines

Rules have mostly unchanged since last year's tournament, but regardless, here's a refresher.

Each Round has a set structure for verses. Check each Round below for this information.
Voting will be done in the comments. Voting will commence upon the blog being posted and will be concluded 72 hours after.
Your account (or another previous account used) must have been active two months and must have three hundred contributions in order for votes to count.
Each round will last two weeks, with a week of overtime only allowed if the rappers have a particularly good reason to need overtime. Voting time is not included in those two weeks, so you have a full 14 days of writing time.
If a battle is not finished by the deadline, it pays to finish your verses anyway as if one party has complete verses and one does not, The one with complete verses will do battle with a backup rapper. If neither participant has finished by the deadline, BOTH rappers will be replaced by backups.
In Rounds 1 and 2, the backups will consist of those who auditioned but did not make the cut. From Round 3 onwards they will consist of the rapper whom the offending competitor had last beaten.
Make sure to keep in touch with your opponent with your verses.
You cannot have anyone write your lines, or help you in any way including proof-reading. These are your verses, your rhymes, your flow and your grammar.
Both of your verses must be finished before upload. Google Docs is recommended for this, though feel free to send each other the verses through other means (Discord, Skype, Facebook Messenger, Twitter DMs, etc.)
Beats are highly recommended.
Do not link your battle to people in PM or ask for their vote. Keep advertising battles to main chat (if people still use chat, lol) or the Official ERB Wiki Discord server.
Votes will only be counted when made in the comment section of each battle's blog. Do not vote in a reply to another comment, otherwise it will not be counted. Replies will not be checked during the process of tallying up votes, so if you want your vote to count, it needs to be in its own separate comment.
If you're blocked but your block is set to expire soon, feel free to reach out to me and I will enter your vote for you.

Sixteen lines total from each rapper at least. The users can decide how they wish to arrange the verses (ex: 8x8x8x8, 8x8x4x4x4x4, 4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4, etc.). More lines are recommended, but sixteen lines is just the baseline.
