Information on the location
Yankee Stadium was a stadium located in the South Bronx in New York City, New York. It was the home of the New York Yankees, one of the city's Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises from 1923–1973 and from 1976–2008. The stadium was heavily renovated from 1974 to 1975, during which the Yankees played home games at Shea Stadium in Queens.
Yankee stadium hosted 6,581 Yankees regular season home games during its 85-year history. It was also the former home of the New York Giants American football team. The stadium's nickname, "The House That Ruth Built", is derived from Babe Ruth's accomplishments made in the stadium.
In 2009, Yankee Stadium was replaced by a new stadium with the same name, exterior design, and dimensions. This new stadium was built across the road from its predecessor.
Historians tend to refer to the pre-renovation form of the original site of the stadium as "Yankee Stadium I". They refer to the post-renovation form of the original site as "Yankee Stadium II", and the current site of the stadium as "New Yankee Stadium".
Appearance in the rap battle
Yankee Stadium is the location where Babe Ruth rapped. While Ruth was rapping, an advertisement for the Ballantine Ale beer was seen. Several Babe Ruths appeared in the background and were seen doing different things (such as pitching and batting), referencing the fact that Babe Ruth heId many different positions during his baseball career.
